The Lethbridge Police Service is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent Compliance Coordinator. The role involves managing the Ministry of Public Safety & Emergency Services compliance process for the Lethbridge Police Service.

This position is covered by a collective agreement with CUPE Local 70, representing employees across various civic departments.

Wage: $38.31 per hour (2025 rate, under review)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, coordinate, and manage agency compliance activities.
  2. Maintain and update compliance files using an electronic document management system.
  3. Identify and verify adherence to law enforcement standards, addressing deficiencies via policies, training, or administrative measures.
  4. Establish effective communication with the Policing Standards & Audits Section.
  5. Complete and submit reports and forms to relevant authorities.
  6. Serve as liaison to compliance professionals and audits.
  7. Assist in reviewing policies to ensure compliance with Alberta standards.
  8. Participate in meetings with leadership on compliance matters.
  9. Provide training to supervisors on documentation and compliance processes.
  10. Attend relevant meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  11. Coordinate assessments and inspections related to compliance standards.
  12. Develop compliance training for personnel.
  13. Maintain contacts with other law enforcement agencies for best practices.
  14. Assist with the technical setup of PowerDMS system.
Qualifications:
  • Two-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta Provincial Policing Standards and compliance processes.
  • Familiarity with Lethbridge Police policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of law enforcement organizational structure.
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial laws.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with PowerDMS and Microsoft Office.

The successful candidate must consent to a police security clearance, including background checks, polygraph, and disclosure forms.
