Job description

As an LPN at CHCA, you will provide high-quality nursing care in diverse healthcare settings, including emergency rooms, intensive care units, nursing stations and community health centers. Assignments involve working in remote, isolated, or semi-isolated areas, delivering culturally safe care to Indigenous populations and other communities in need.

Location : Various locations across Canada, including remote and Indigenous communities in provinces such as Nova Scotia, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario.

Position Type : Full-time, Part-time, or Contract

What You’ll Do :

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a range of clinical environments including long-term care, primary health centers, and nursing stations
  • Support and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement care plans and monitor patient outcomes
  • Administer medications, perform assessments, and assist with treatments and wound care
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in alignment with provincial regulations
  • Promote health education and culturally safe care to patients in remote or Indigenous communities
  • Flexibly adapt to new environments and various shift schedules (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays)

Requirements

What You Need :

Active and unrestricted LPN license in British Columbia

A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an LPN

Graduation from a recognized Canadian Practical Nursing program

CPR / BLS certification (other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or ITLS are considered strong assets)

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel by various means, including small aircraft, ferries, and road transport

Proven ability to work independently in remote, high-autonomy settings

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative, team-first attitude
