Job description

$32.00 - $35.00/Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Leadership:
    1. Oversee the daily operations of the unit, including assignment of tasks and performance evaluation.
    2. Mentor and train staff, providing guidance and support.
    3. Address staff issues and concerns, and implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
    4. Ensure that the unit meets federal, state, and company guidelines.
  2. Patient Care:
    1. Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and other nursing procedures, as needed.
    2. Assess patients' needs and adjust care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
    3. Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
    4. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  3. Coordination and Communication:
    1. Coordinate activities within the unit, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
    2. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
    3. Participate in meetings and committees related to patient care and unit operations.
    4. Act as a liaison between patients' families and healthcare staff.
  4. Compliance and Quality:
    1. Ensure that the unit adheres to all relevant regulations and standards.
    2. Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
    3. Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care provided on the unit.
  5. Other Duties:
    1. May be involved in hiring and onboarding new staff.
    2. May be required to perform rounds, standard nursing evaluation tests such as blood pressures, temperatures, and drawing blood.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York State.
  2. Experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
  3. Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
  7. Proficiency in electronic health record systems.

Additionally, you are required to work one weekend day every other weekend on a cart.
