Job description

The Team
At the Fraser South Child and Youth Eating Disorder Program, you'll join a dedicated team of clinicians, including a physician, psychiatrist, dietitian, and healthcare worker, along with a team leader and administrative staff. We collaborate to support children, youth, and families aged 8-19 navigating eating disorders through evidence-based, goal-oriented support. Our diverse team values knowledge sharing and mutual support, partnering closely with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations. We provide a welcoming and respectful environment where individuals can feel safe and supported to serve the diverse families within the Fraser South communities.

The Role
In this role, you will supervise a team of six clinicians providing direct clinical services, including intake, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for children, youth, and families. You will collaborate with team members, community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs, conducting individual, group, and family therapy. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will lead your team in delivering a family engagement model of service, helping youth and their families feel confident in managing change and navigating eating disorder recovery. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing up to one day per week of remote work based on flexible work agreements.

Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements

  • Ph.D. in clinical or applied psychology, registered with or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
  • Completion of a 1600-hour psychological internship in a child and youth mental health or hospital setting, specializing in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders.
  • Experience in clinical child and adolescent psychology.
  • Experience providing mental health services to children, youth, and their families.
  • Supervisory experience with staff.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license or equivalent.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Over two years of experience in mental health services for eating disorders involving children and youth.
  • Six months or more of supervisory experience (supervising practicum students is not considered equivalent).

Position Details:
One full-time, permanent position available. Flexible work options are available, including up to one day at home per week with an approved telework agreement.
