Are you passionate about North Vancouver and love sharing your local knowledge? Do you enjoy meeting new people and being part of a vibrant waterfront community? Join us this summer as a Lower Lonsdale Visitor Ambassador and help showcase one of the most exciting neighbourhoods on the North Shore!
As a Visitor Ambassador, you’ll be a friendly, welcoming face for tourists and locals alike. Based in the heart of Lower Lonsdale, you’ll support tourism, assist with community events, and provide top-notch information about everything the area has to offer—from restaurants and retail to art galleries and festivals.
This is an outdoors, roaming position throughout the Lower Lonsdale neighbourhood in North Vancouver.
Comfort in standing, walking, and carrying up to 50 lbs is required.
Operation of e-bike and an NZEV vehicle (requiring a full BC drivers licence) is expected to be part of the position, with full training provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome and assist visitors with questions about local attractions, transportation, dining, and services
Promote upcoming events, local businesses, and experiences in the Lower Lonsdale area
Operation and management of our new NZEV vehicle, the Lonsdale StreetCart to offer trips and tours of the neighbourhood
Manage visitor information materials, gather feedback and data, and record statistics
Provide light administrative support, including data collection and reporting and managing inventory
Assist with social media, marketing, and photography efforts to boost online visibility
Collaborate with partner organizations and local businesses to enhance the visitor experience
A friendly, outgoing personality and a passion for helping others
Strong communication and customer service skills
Familiarity with North Vancouver and its key attractions
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Must live within reasonable commuting distance from Lower Lonsdale
Bonus: Proficiency in multiple languages, experience with social media or marketing, or prior event support
