Job summary

Citi is hiring a seasoned Java Developer to enhance a markets-wide strategic risk management platform and integrate with trading systems across markets. You will collaborate with management to identify system enhancements and ensure architectural alignment.

With 8+ years of core Java experience and hands-on microservices, you will design scalable solutions, implement testing standards, and mentor junior developers in a globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in software development.
• Extensive Core Java (17+) experience with data structures and SOLID principles.
• Hands-on microservices experience and system integration skills.
• Experience with Kafka and Solace messaging, and Spring framework.
• Cloud tech exposure (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift) and CI/CD tools.
• Familiar with Jira, Bitbucket, and Gradle tooling.
• Experience with MongoDB and distributed multi-threaded systems.
• Testing with JUnit and Cucumber; understanding FIX protocol.

Role Overview/What You'll Do

Must Have Key Skills and Experience Required

• 8+ years relevant experience.
• Extensive Core Java 17 version & above experience with strong knowledge of data structures, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Hands-on Microservices experience
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka and Solace.
• Proficiency in Spring framework and cloud technologies (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket, and Gradle.
• Experience with document databases (MongoDB).
• Experience developing multi-threaded, distributed systems.
• Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit and Cucumber.
• Solid understanding of the FIX protocol.

Beneficial Skills and Experience

• Experience with Chronicle framework or low-latency programming.
• Experience with time-series databases like KDB.
• Experience with Equities trading OMS.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a globally distributed team.
