About the Opportunity
The Low Carbon Energy Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Sîpihkisôwin (Resilience): Low Carbon Energy Program by serving as the primary liaison between Métis citizens and the Low Carbon Energy Program, which transitions Métis households to the use of renewable energy sources, energy efficient retrofits & new builds, and/or low-carbon heating technologies and practices.

This position is responsible for guiding applicants through the program application process, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring timely processing of applications. Second, the position supports citizens’ progress through their project, working towards opportunities for cost-saving and alleviating administrative burdens. Additionally, the Coordinator will handle tasks related to the program’s operations and collaborate closely with internal teams and across ministries to facilitate the successful implementation of low carbon energy initiatives at Métis Nation British Columbia.

This position works to bridge socioeconomic gaps and increase overall well-being for Métis is BC through supporting low carbon energy programming, while also working with Canada toward the common goals of GHG emission reductions and moving toward net-zero emissions.
