Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license and acceptable drivers abstract required.
  • Must have lowbed truck operating and equipment hauling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe work operations and compliance with procedures.
  • Operate low bed trucks and perform pre & post inspection checks.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports (daily, weekly, etc.).

Skills

Off-road & winter driving experience
Class 1 driver’s license
First Aid Training
3-5 years on/off highway driving experience
Lowbed truck operating experience
Experience pulling 32-to-48-wheel Trailer configurations

Job description

We are proud to be formally recognized with industry and ministerial awards for innovation and environmental stewardship, while managing long-term contracts within both provincial and federal jurisdictions.

We are looking to fill the role of Low Bed Operator for our Alberta - Grimshaw - Highway Maintenance Operations, reporting to the Grimshaw Superintendent.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe work operations and full compliance to operating procedures.
  • Operate and haul customer commodities with various multi-axle configurations including low bed trucks.
  • Responsible for pre & post inspection check of equipment and track in log book.
  • Reports any equipment defects or maintenance issues to Foreman/Superintendent.
  • Responsible for checking and refilling equipment fuels and fluids to required specs.
  • Tracks any refueling or tops in inspection log.
  • Assists in the maintenance of equipment. Maintains tidiness within the equipment.
  • Prepares and submits necessary reports (daily, weekly, etc.).
  • Performs other duties that may be required from time to time.
  • Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with off-road & winter driving.
  • Ability to work day/night shifts and be on-call.
  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license.
  • Acceptable drivers abstract (5 years minimum).
  • First Aid Training.
  • 3-5 years on/off highway driving experience.
  • Must have lowbed truck operating and equipment hauling experience.
  • Must have experience pulling 32-to-48-wheel Trailer configurations.
  • Availability to work rotational shifts, including days and nights.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work in a team setting and alone as required.
  • Ability to navigate work sites and adapt to daily changes in scopes of work.
