The Asset Protection Specialist (APS) is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud, organized retail crime, and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store(s). The APS will drive execution of the Company’s internal and external theft and fraud strategy and utilize several tools to minimize loss to the Company. The APS must demonstrate integrity at all times, respond to and support key AP and operational concerns of all associates, and remain focused on store-specific business objectives.
Communication and negotiate effectively with all levels inside and outside the organization. Ability to analyze situations and resolve issues with innovation and creativity. Proven ability to lead and drive complex projects to completion. Exceptional Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office knowledge a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels. Strong work ethic, sense of responsibility and confidentiality, with the ability to work independently. Ability to accomplish multiple assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Reports to Asset Protection Supervisor or District Asset Protection Manager.
Some Travel Required.
May involve bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving merchandise and tools, climbing a ladder. Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the store locations. May involve quickly responding to public address system announcements, including customer service calls, pages, and general information. Moving around the store and being able to communicate with and assist associates & customers. Operating a computer and other technology.
Multisite or location dependent.
Working within a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends. Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy. Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
High School Diploma or GED.
1+ year(s) experience as a retail-related Loss Prevention Investigator (or equivalent) preferred.

Where applicable, Asset Protection associates are required to maintain a valid and up-to-date security guard license and/or private investigator license.
Must have access to a vehicle. May be required to travel to various stores in the market area. Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
