The Day to Day

As a Loss Prevention Security Guard at Securiguard, your role involves safeguarding the assets and minimizing losses for the retail client. You will conduct routine surveillance, employing your keen observational skills to identify and prevent theft, fraud, or other security breaches. Regularly patrolling the premises, you'll interact with customers and employees to deter potential incidents while maintaining a high level of customer service. Your role includes investigating suspicious activities, reviewing CCTV footage, and collaborating with law enforcement when necessary. Crafting detailed incident reports. Your commitment to enforcing security protocols, de-escalating conflicts, and, when needed, making lawful arrests ensures a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers.

What you bring :

• Valid BC Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR
• At least 1 year of security experience in a high-profile customer focused environment such as retail, government or healthcare. .
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare professional daily and / or incident security reports.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• Military / Police background / Law Enforcement background is an asset.
• Strong observational skills and situational awareness
• Punctuality
• Able to stand / patrol up for up to 8 hours.
