The Loss Prevention Coordinator is responsible for investigating preventable loss in our retail stores in Calgary and Southern Alberta and conducts store audit procedures. The ideal candidate is highly dependable, demonstrates ethical and safe work practices, has a high level of discretion, and is passionate about loss prevention initiatives. The successful candidate will live in Calgary or the surrounding area and be able to drive to our stores in this region, working flexible hours to accommodate store hours. In this role, you will embody our value of Doing the Right Thing by protecting People, Assets, and Brands. You will work in an energized, fast-paced environment focused on creating a safe environment for our employees and customers.

  • You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating external theft and fraud trends within a specific market and group of stores.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement systems to minimize loss of merchandise, money, or company assets.
  • Audit our current POS system at each store to identify issues.
  • Monitor inventory to identify discrepancies at the store level.
  • Investigate suspicious customer and/or employee activity remotely via CCTV camera.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure video surveillance systems are functioning properly.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure cash is accurately accounted for both in the back end and in the POS system.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent theft at points of sale or inventory storage areas.
  • Conduct remote audits via CCTV for various investigations and prepare reports on findings.
  • Research, suggest, and implement additional security measures.
  • Assist with other duties as required.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Business Management Certificate or Degree.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Valid Alberta Security license.
  • CannSell Cannabis License.
  • Experience in a cannabis environment (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in retail loss prevention, security, or law enforcement.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Proven investigation skills.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and loss prevention strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the criminal code.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software for reports and documentation.

Salary range: CAD $55,000.00 - CAD $70,000.00 per year.
