Job summary

Giant Tiger Wholesale is hiring a full‑time Loss Prevention Operator to join our Johnstown, ON facility, evenings 1:00pm–10:00pm. You will support the Loss Prevention Team, monitor security cameras, conduct audits, and help protect store assets in a fast‑paced, safety‑driven environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong communication and analytical skills, the Ontario Security Guard Licence, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies calmly.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
• Intermediate PC skills in Windows environment.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Loss prevention experience through education or work experience.
• Ontario Security Guard Licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of loss prevention activities and programs.
• Observe and supervise security camera systems.
• Provide direct support to the Loss Prevention Team, Facility Operations, and stakeholders.
• Record and track areas of loss within distribution centers.
• Complete audits and reporting metrics related to findings.
• Provide analytics on key loss areas and opportunities for improvement.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors and managers.
• Support LP control points during peak times and when coverage is required.

About This Role

Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a full‑time, permanent Loss Prevention Operator, to work in our state‑of‑the‑art facility in Johnstown, ON! We are looking for an energetic individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys challenges, and is a dynamic team player. Reporting to the Loss Prevention Supervisor, you will be responsible for security functions as well as providing unique and direct support to the Loss Prevention Team, Giant Tiger Stores and Facility Operations under a broad scope of security and retail store loss prevention operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist in the execution of loss prevention activities and programs
• Observe and supervise security camera systems
• Provide direct support to the Loss Prevention Team, Facility Operations, & relevant stakeholders
• Record and Track specific areas of loss concern within the DCs
• Complete audits as required and reporting metrics that relate to audit findings
• Provide analytics on key areas of loss, identifying areas and opportunities for improvement
• Complete additional designated tasks as directed by the Loss Prevention Supervisor, Team Leader or Loss Prevention Manager
• Provide additional support as needed to LP Control Points during peak times and when additional coverage is required

What You’ll Bring

• Completion of High School.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly and professionally.
• Strong attention to detail and have strong analytical and problems solving skills.
• Self‑motivated; ability to work without direct supervision.
• Intermediate PC skills, within a Windows environment.
• Ability to work under strict confidentially, high ethical standards, combined with a common sense approach.
• Loss prevention experience – either through education or work experience.
• Ontario Security Guard License.
• Successful candidates must be in good standing for both performance and health & safety.
• Assist in the execution of loss prevention activities and programs.

Assets You May Have

Diploma in Law Enforcement and/or Police Foundation Bilingual.

Schedule

Monday to Friday from 1:00pm to 10:00pm
