The Waste Services Branch is looking for a Long Haul Wash Bay Attendant/Truck Driver IV to safely support operations by detailing equipment. Responsibilities include detailing equipment, shunting trailers, and operating tractor-trailer units year-round in various conditions at landfills and disposal sites. The role involves transporting waste and recyclables within Edmonton and to other locations.
What will you do?
- Wash and detail tractor-trailer units and on-site equipment, including exterior, interior, and engine components
- Operate and maintain wash bay equipment such as pressure washers and steam cleaners
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wash bay and proper storage of equipment
- Drive vehicles through heavy city traffic and unload trailers in challenging conditions
- Transport tractor-trailer units to and from regional landfills across Alberta
- Pick up and deliver units from various locations
- Perform light maintenance inspections and complete electronic pre-trip forms
- Follow facility policies during deliveries
- Ensure environmentally safe operations daily
- Clean truck tunnels and parking stalls, complete electronic timesheets, and operate radios and cell phones
- Support environmental incident reporting and documentation
- Deal with the public as required
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 8 plus experience operating tractor-trailers over 13,600 kg GVM
- Experience washing fleet equipment with high-pressure washers

Conditions of Employment:
- Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver’s License with Airbrake; City Driver's permit required
- Compliance with PPE safety standards
- Applicants may be tested
Work Environment:
- Physical ability for manual tasks, including handling high-pressure washers and navigating tight spaces
- Work schedule of 80 hours bi-weekly, various shifts including weekends
