Tasks

1. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS), or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
2. Address customers' complaints or concerns.
3. Provide professional customer service.
4. Arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations.
5. Load and unload goods.
6. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
7. Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
8. Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
9. Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
10. Perform preventive maintenance.
11. Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
12. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
13. Ensure safety and security of cargo, including tarping and handling dangerous goods.
14. Engage in duties and responsibilities that promote positive environmental outcomes.
