Job summary

Fisher & Paykel Appliances Ltd is seeking a Canada-based Logistics Manager to own end-to-end logistics for inbound ocean freight, domestic transport, and reverse logistics. You will optimize port-to-warehouse and warehouse-to-customer flows, drive reductions in dwell and delays, and partner with 3PLs and carriers to meet service and cost targets.

You will leverage TMS, ERP (Oracle/JDE), Power BI, and advanced Excel to monitor performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.

The Role

The Role Manages the execution, optimization, and performance of logistics operations for the Canadian market, ensuring right-time, right-cost delivery across inbound containerized freight and domestic transportation modes. The role translates regional logistics strategy into disciplined operational execution, owns delivery service and cost outcomes, and drives continuous improvement across network flow, container efficiency, and carrier performance. Operating as the logistics subject‑matter expert for Canada, this role partners cross‑functionally to ensure logistics capabilities support customer commitments, regulatory compliance, and margin protection. You Will Own end‑to‑end logistics execution for Canada across inbound ocean freight, domestic transportation and reverse logistics. Manage port‑to‑warehouse and warehouse‑to‑customer flow, identifying opportunities to reduce dwell, touchpoints, and delays. Support network optimization initiatives including mode selection, routing logic improvements, and freight consolidation. Own inbound container performance including booking accuracy, ETA management, customs clearance, terminal release, delivery, and empty return. Actively manage demurrage, detention, congestion, and exam risk; mitigate and resolve exceptions. Support Custom compliance functional expert to get information as required from freight forwarders for meeting CBSA requirements, CUSMA trade rules (for shipments to and from US), and broker coordination. Manage day‑to‑day operational relationships with 3PL, carriers, brokers, forwarders, and logistics service providers. Track service performance, identify trends, and support corrective action plans. Support rate, SLA, and accessorial governance through operational insight and reporting. Monitor freight spend, accruals, and invoice accuracy. Analyze cost drivers including demurrage, detention, premium freight, returns and re‑delivery. Identify and support cost savings initiatives aligned to Canada logistics targets. Own logistics KPI tracking and reporting for Canada to leadership and global logistics teams. Ensure data accuracy across ERP, TMS, visibility tools, and carrier portals. Support SOP adherence and continuous improvement of logistics governance. Support business transformation and network design initiatives, ensuring systems, structures, and service levels meet future customer requirements. Support multi-channel final-mile fulfilment across delivery modes (including B2B and B2B2C) within the Canadian logistics network. Contribute logistics insight to capacity planning, mode selection, and continuous improvement of the end-to-end flow of goods to the end consumer. Apply structured stakeholder management to enable effective cross‑functional collaboration with global supporting functions. Support carrier onboarding and ensure carriers are trained and operating in accordance with Standard Operating and Safe Work Procedures (SOPs / SWPs). Maintain and apply SOPs, work instructions, and business rules, supporting operational alignment across the logistics network. Support the development of training and capability content covering product handling, service standards, and final‑mile delivery and installation excellence. Address and resolve transportation‑related issues and service exceptions raised by internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Maintain high service levels and customer satisfaction by monitoring delivery performance and responding to service inquiries.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring the brand image is upheld across all carrier and customer interactions.
You Have

Advanced logistics execution and container management knowledge. Strong cost‑to‑serve and analytical capability Trade compliance understanding (CBSA, CUSMA). Data‑driven decision making and continuous improvement mindset. Strong stakeholder communication and execution discipline. Strong commercial and financial acumen, applying the right cost and service solution to each situation. Commercial awareness supporting rate, SLA, accessorial, and invoice governance. Proficiency in transportation and logistics systems — TMS, ERP (Oracle / JDE), Power BI, and advanced Excel. Effective influencing and relationship‑building across internal and carrier networks. HSE awareness with a role‑model commitment to safe work practices. LEAN and process‑improvement discipline. Detail‑oriented and results‑driven; able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

The expected base salary/pay range for this role is $63,000.00 - $80,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidates experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
