Calgary Location: City Dispatch
The successful candidate will follow a modified work schedule: working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, off Thursday and Friday, and working every second weekend. The shift is from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
About The Position
- Matching drivers, trucks, and trailers to orders based on load requirements and qualifications while optimizing fleet resources and ensuring proper utilization.
- Assigning work based on Hours of Service, Driver Schedules, Equipment Needs, and Routing.
- Arranging for equipment to be available for fleet maintenance.
- Ensuring all load special instructions are communicated effectively to affected drivers.
- Taking customer orders by phone, email, and fax, entering orders into the TMW system, and providing confirmation to the customer.
- Managing product (tank) levels and confirming inventory levels using in-house software, and reviewing conflicting information.
- Communicating with drivers regarding any deviations from planned loads.
- Providing delivery status updates proactively and informing customers of any changes promptly.
- Knowledge of Calgary geography is required.
What You Bring
- Previous experience in forecasting, manpower allocation, and scheduling; ability to anticipate potential issues and adapt to frequent changes in customer needs.
- Proficiency with Windows-based programs; TMW experience is an asset. Must be computer literate and tech-savvy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain humor and composure in challenging situations and adapt to plan changes without frustration.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating initiative and ambition.
