Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations

HunterNet Career Connections, in partnership with our host company Poly Pipe, is seeking a Logistics Operator Trainee to join their team in Toronto. We are looking for a motivated individual interested in completing a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations. The successful applicant will complete this nationally recognised qualification while gaining on-the-job experience over 24 months.

Poly Pipe, founded in 2006, is an industry specialist in manufacturing Polyethylene pipe systems for data, water, gas, waste, and energy applications. Located in the Hunter Valley, Poly Pipe boasts a modern extrusion and manufacturing facility equipped with the latest technology and is renowned for quality assurance.

As a Supply Chain Trainee, your duties will include:

  • Advising employees, suppliers, and customers on material placement, storage, and pickup
  • Preparing and loading customer orders for dispatch
  • Operating, refueling, and maintaining forklifts daily
  • Transporting stock with proper documentation; reporting and documenting damaged or rejected goods
  • Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
  • Conducting daily pre-start checks and regular inspections on vehicles; reporting faults or defects
  • Carrying out basic vehicle maintenance, including purchasing fuel and oil as required
  • Estimating load weights and ensuring safe, compliant distribution
  • Completing administrative tasks, including obtaining signatures on manifests, delivery dockets, and supplier pickups
  • Maintaining a work diary with trip details
  • Monitoring vehicle performance, including fuel and oil usage, and tyre condition
  • Assisting with manufacturing practices and stocktakes during periods of low demand
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workplace and actively participating in site safety programs
  • Performing additional duties as required

  • Ability to demonstrate effective team management
  • Willingness to gain a qualification along with forklift and heavy vehicle driver’s licenses (if applicable)
  • Ability to work safely at all times
  • Commitment and drive to complete the traineeship
