Job description

Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with our client to support the recruitment of a Logistics & Material Specialist for a 1-year contract based in Calgary, Alberta. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days on-site. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in material expediting, logistics coordination, or procurement within the oil & gas industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the manufacturing or assembly processes of procured materials or complex engineered equipment.
  • Monitor Supplier progress against planned schedules; obtain updates on key milestones and maintain the Material Status Report for distribution to Business Unit clients.
  • Track sub-supplier progress as required.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit clients to verify and align material required-on-site (ROS) dates.
  • Confirm Supplier’s ready-to-ship dates and ensure alignment with client delivery schedules by comparing ROS, RTS, and transportation lead times.
  • Proactively address delays or changes by facilitating recovery plans and resolution meetings with Suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Freight team to define transportation plans and communicate shipment timelines, provider details, and special handling or unloading requirements.
  • Ensure accurate material receipt processes, including issuing Material Receiving Reports (MRRs) and resolving any overage, shortage, or damage (OS&D) issues in partnership with Suppliers and receiving personnel.
  • Support accurate and timely supplier payment by verifying proper receipt and documentation.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with project managers, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure smooth material and equipment delivery.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in material expediting, logistics coordination, or procurement within oil & gas or related industries.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SAP; ability to work with data to track and report progress.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing work environments and priorities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative team player with a focus on results.
  • Ability to come on-site on a hybrid basis (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in-office).
