The role balances strategic planning with day-to-day operational leadership, focusing on people leadership, process improvement, and supply chain optimization.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or transportation management.
  • Experience leading teams in manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or warehouse settings.
  • Strong background in inventory control and transportation operations.
  • Proven ability to improve performance via process optimization.
  • Expertise with ERP, WMS, and TMS platforms.
  • Advanced Excel skills for metrics and reporting.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain best practices.
  • Familiarity with OH&S, WHMIS, TDG regulations.
  • Lean Manufacturing or CI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily logistics activities, including receiving, warehousing, inventory control, order fulfillment, and outbound shipments.
  • Optimize logistics processes and product flow to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to measure operational performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and improve logistics procedures, standards, and best practices across the operation.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, transportation providers, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Oversee transportation planning, routing, delivery schedules, and service performance.
  • Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce spend.
  • Resolve transportation challenges and ensure customer delivery expectations are consistently met.
  • Lead, coach, and develop logistics personnel while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities.
  • Plan staffing requirements to align with operational demands and business growth.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Champion health and safety initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Support audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
  • Drive operational improvement projects, process modernization, and technology adoption.
  • Utilize ERP, WMS, TMS, and reporting tools to analyze performance and support data-driven decision-making.

About the Role

As the Logistics Manager, you will oversee warehousing, transportation, distribution, inventory management, and logistics planning. You'll be responsible for ensuring products move efficiently through the supply chain while maintaining high levels of customer service, safety, compliance, and operational performance.

This role combines strategic planning with day-to-day operational leadership and is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing people leadership, process improvement, and supply chain optimization.

What You'll Do
Logistics & Supply Chain Operations
  • Lead all daily logistics activities, including receiving, warehousing, inventory control, order fulfillment, and outbound shipments.
  • Optimize logistics processes and product flow to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to measure operational performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Transportation & Distribution
  • Manage relationships with carriers, transportation providers, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Oversee transportation planning, routing, delivery schedules, and service performance.

  • Resolve transportation challenges and ensure customer delivery expectations are consistently met.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory controls.
  • Improve warehouse organization, storage utilization, and operational workflows.
  • Implement measures to reduce inventory loss, product damage, and obsolescence.
  • Ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations while maintaining compliance with company standards.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop logistics personnel while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities.

What You'll Bring
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, warehousing, distribution, or transportation management.
  • Experience leading teams within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or warehouse environment.
  • Strong background managing inventory control, transportation operations, and warehouse functions.
  • Proven ability to improve operational performance through process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP, WMS, and TMS platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with operational metrics and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and supply chain best practices.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS, TDG, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience is considered an asset.
