Overview

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Lead to oversee and streamline our logistics operations. This role is responsible for managing inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and improving processes to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Shipment Coordination: Manage and secure carriers for all outbound and inbound shipments.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare shipping paperwork, including customs clearances.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary contact for shipping inquiries, coordinating with carriers, forwarders, and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Scheduling: Oversee shipping and load planning for all products and deliveries.
  • Cost Optimization: Obtain shipping quotes and evaluate methods for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Issue Resolution: Track shipments, troubleshoot delivery issues, and resolve discrepancies.
  • System Management: Maintain accurate shipping data in the operations system for tracking and billing.
  • Compliance: Ensure shipments comply with regulations, including customs and import/export requirements.
  • Technology Utilization: Oversee logistics software use and leverage reporting features for efficiency.
  • Training & Development: Provide onboarding and continuous training for logistics team members.
  • Budget Oversight: Monitor logistics budgets and support cost-control initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, purchasing, sales, and customer service teams.
  • Customer Service Support: Assist in resolving customer delivery issues and provide proactive updates.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs to measure logistics effectiveness.
  • Auditing & Accuracy Checks: Conduct regular audits of shipping documentation, carrier invoices, and customs records.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on regulatory changes, trade agreements, and logistics technology advancements.
  • Workflow Management: Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and ensure daily shipping and receiving operations run smoothly.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, recommend enhancements, and implement best practices in logistics operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a shipping and logistics role.
  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or shipping management.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with US logistics and established carrier connections is an asset.
  • Experience with logistics software and tracking systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and process improvement abilities.
