ABOUT COULSON AVIATION

Coulson Aviation operates with a fleet of large aerial firefighting aircraft consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. With our fleet, we can run rapid aerial fire suppression, including initial attack and extended attack protocols.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

This full-time position has been created due to the rapidly expanding operations in Port Alberni, B.C. We seek a hardworking candidate with a very strong attention to detail. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing and optimizing supply chain logistics operations with a focus on cross-border US/Canada coordination, documentation, tariffs, and network management of key logistics suppliers, including prioritization for remote locations and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) in the Aerial Firefighting industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate seamless movement of goods across the US-Canada border, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, managing border crossing documentation, and addressing potential delays or issues to maintain supply chain integrity.
  • Prepare and review shipping documents such as bills of lading, customs declarations, and tariffs, ensuring adherence to international trade regulations and optimizing costs.
  • Work closely with Customs Brokers to assure that the information is accurate and that any changes are communicated accordingly.
  • Maintain relationships with a network of logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers, including those specializing in urgent or priority shipments, especially to remote or hard-to-reach locations.
  • Develop and execute contingency plans for urgent shipments, including AOG scenarios, ensuring rapid response and resource allocation to minimize downtime.
  • Stay updated on tariffs, trade agreements, and customs procedures to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage tracking of inbound and outbound shipments to various warehouse locations, vendors/suppliers, customers, and update the system accordingly.
  • Continuously follow up and update all requestors/departments with inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Work with various departments to ensure steady flow of information throughout our supply chain.
  • Provide support for Logistics/Operations projects as assigned and any ad hoc or other duties as required by the Supply Chain department.
  • Package and handle aircraft equipment to the regulated standards.
  • Ensure Coulson Group of Companies procedures and standards are being met.
  • This role will partake in the on-call AOG phone duties and manage all AOG transactions on an ad hoc basis.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain.
  • 3-5 years of import and export experience.
  • Experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP system.
  • Excellent computer skill set and accurate keying capability.
  • Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize urgent shipments and manage remote logistics challenges effectively.
  • Good analytical and critical decision-making skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
