Summary
As a Shipping & Receiving Material Handler, you will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for handling materials in the warehouse. This includes packing and shipping batteries, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing products. You will oversee packaging goods, creating shipping labels, and preparing necessary shipping documents to ensure orders are complete and shipped correctly. Your role ensures efficient and accurate handling of all shipments in both receiving and shipping processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Pack and unpack battery shipments, ensuring compliance with HAZMAT and DG shipping regulations.
- Pack boxes onto pallets for shipment, ensuring proper organization and stability.
- Forklift and/or pallet jack certification is strongly preferred.
- Ensure batteries are packed securely to minimize damage during transport.
- Participate in quarterly inventory counts to maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure timely and safe delivery of batteries.
- Follow and promote safe handling practices for batteries and report safety concerns to the Supervisor.
- Support safe work practices among coworkers, communicate safety training needs, and comply with Health & Safety Program (HSE) guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a good driving record
- Experience with FedEx, UPS, WorldShip, freight routing, BOL is a plus
- Strong team player with the ability to build collaborative relationships with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Suppliers, and Customers
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Repetitive hand and arm movements
- Capable of lifting and carrying equipment, tools, or materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent reaching, grasping, pushing or pulling, bending, or twisting motions
- Standing, bending, or kneeling to access equipment, operate machinery, or handle delicate components
- Occasional travel to client sites or other company facilities may be required
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations, including moving quickly from job sites or performing urgent troubleshooting
- Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
- Wear and properly use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves as required by safety protocols
