The Logistics Co-Ordinator is responsible for maintaining excellent service levels with both internal and external customers. They will handle the daily planning and arrangement of carriers based on shipping requirements at the Teknion Distribution Center.
This role acts as a liaison between Carriers, the Consolidation Center team, and the Teknion order fulfillment department.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal and external customers, communicating Teknion’s shipping policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with transportation service providers.
- Work with Team Leads and Supervisors to maintain shipping schedules.
- Proactively communicate any exceptions or deviations in shipping schedules or processes.
- Support claims processes and investigations.
- Manage and monitor Service KPIs and reporting metrics.
- Expedite rush orders and follow up as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks related to shipment documentation.
- Manage exception orders and communicate proactively.
- Input data for KPIs related to transportation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Teknion Consolidation Center.
Product Support:
- Assist with claims investigations.
- Ensure product output meets or exceeds customer expectations and standards, balancing cost, quality, and manufacturability.
- Identify gaps in product knowledge and coordinate research.
- Incorporate lessons learned into new product designs.
- Investigate root causes of design-related claims and assist in implementing corrections.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and competitor products.
Projects:
- Establish efficient product development processes.
- Assess project scope, risks, and requirements, and prioritize activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Review design requirements and monitor timelines.
- Inform management of risks and opportunities.
- Coordinate with manufacturers for system compatibility.
- Support marketing activities with engineering input.
Policy Development:
- Develop policies and procedures to meet management system requirements.
- Establish best practices and training for engineering standards.
- Promote continuous improvement in product and engineering processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- College diploma or university degree is an asset.
- 2-3 years experience in transportation and logistics.
- Understanding of transportation modes and customs documentation.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and Docs.
- Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Availability for a 42.5-hour workweek, with occasional overtime and shifts.
