About the Position

Reporting to the Location Manager, the main responsibilities of this role will be to manage contracts and customer documentation requirements related to the shipment of commodities. The role will be in a team based environment working to move products through the Canadian agriculture supply chain to our end use customers domestically and around the world.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing transportation logistics to meet time sensitive shipments
  • Creating and maintaining shipping plans against contractual requirements.
  • Processing transactions for purchase and sales for grain and oilseed commodities
  • Ensuring that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures and have been properly authorized
  • Issuing payments in accordance with company policy
  • Maintaining and updating vendor and customer files
  • Maintaining filing systems for all invoices and payments
  • Assist with prepare period-end processing including accruals and other intercompany transactions
  • Other duties as required

  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office as well as an ability to adapt to other software applications

Education or Work Experience

  • Preference given to University or College degree (economics, finance, agriculture, or accounting)
  • Logistics and documentation experience will be considered an asset for this role
  • Work experience in commodities or general Ag sector; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • High School Diploma
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office as well as an ability to adapt to other software applications
  • Knowledge of the grain industry would be considered an asset for this position
