The location in Skookumchuck, British Columbia, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Logistics Coordinator. This job is full-time and permanent.
General Management
- Promotes and provides a safe workplace and supports the implementation of health & safety programs.
- Maintains systems to ensure the most cost-effective selection and monitoring of transportation providers.
- Pulp movement:
- Verifies site loading requirements to ensure adequate and timely truck and railcar supply.
- Orders trucks and coordinates railcar requirements.
- Coordinates truck movement with Truck Company, Operations, and transload facility.
- Coordinates with transload facility to prevent/mitigate operational upsets at the facility.
- Manages truck and railcar loading to ensure efficiency.
- Manages railcar movement and loading to minimize demurrage.
- Updates and communicates inventory status through LTR.
- Validates railcar information/weights for accounting.
- Updates booking schedules.
- Scans and mails BL to Transportation Company.
- Process Container Summaries:
- Verifies and maintains accurate inventory at all Slocs in SAP.
- Provides assistance with Goods Receipt entries; performs all TP (including diversions) and PGI transactions.
- Maintains and issues shipment and container summary reports related to inventory loading, movement, and sales.
- Submits Cargo Summary information to Export Documentation Specialist for shipping line forwarding.
- Validates Shipping lines Draft BOLs.
- Manages vessel bookings.
- Inventory Management:
- Ensures all inventory is tracked, monitored, and entered correctly into SAP.
- Tracks and resolves pulp damaged during trucking.
- Adjusts inventory to correct miscounts and paperwork errors.
- Manages damaged pulp returns and repulping in SAP.
- Process & Procedures:
- Ensures current documentation of processes and procedures; validates and uploads all freight costs in SAP; monitors changes.
- Prepares month-end reports.
Shipping
- Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments with transportation providers.
- Prepares documentation, maintains records, and coordinates shipments.
- Prepares shipping paperwork and completes transactions in the appropriate system.
- Ensures product quality meets customer expectations.
Planning, Policies, Procedures, and Controls
- Maintains knowledge of current international import/export regulations.
- Documents and updates standard operating procedures.
- Reviews freight bills for billing accuracy.
- Complies with QMS (ISO 9001), EM (ISO 14001), and OHSAS (18001) standards.
Supplier and Customer Management
- Maintains effective communication with Pulp Sales and Logistics teams to ensure understanding of customer issues and expectations.
- Schedules and coordinates domestic and international freight to meet shipping schedules and requested ship dates.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience, preferably with a University Degree and/or PLog designation.
- Good communication skills, computer proficiency, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Flexible, organized, and able to multi-task.
- Strong planning and organizational skills to achieve objectives.
- Record of safety and environmental compliance.
- Proficiency in Office software programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels.
- High standards of integrity and performance excellence.
- Adaptability to a changing business environment.
