Job summary

Bunge Canada is seeking a transportation and logistics professional to Russell, MB to execute the facility's transportation strategy. You will coordinate truck transportation for packaged products, inbound supplies, bulk oils, and ingredients, and ensure timely delivery of customer orders through effective carrier management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service, and providers for logistics execution.
  • Develop daily shipping plans and schedules.
  • Align product availability with customer demand.
  • Negotiate freight rates within guidelines.
  • Support transportation optimization to reduce costs.
  • Plan and execute shipments in SAP and maintain records.
  • Resolve issues with customers, carriers, and transport.
  • Handle transportation claims and damage investigations.
  • Process shipping documentation and support warehouse operations.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to support objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required.

A Day in the Life:

This position is responsible for executing the facility's transportation and logistics strategy by coordinating truck transportation for packaged products, inbound supplies, bulk oils, and ingredients. The role manages inventory and freight movements between the plant and third-party warehouses, coordinates inbound and outbound bulk shipments, and ensures the timely delivery of customer orders through effective carrier and transportation management.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with carriers and transportation providers to support plant and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including packaged products, bulk oils, ingredients, and supplies.
  • Manage inventory and freight movements between the plant and third-party warehouse locations.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service, and transportation providers to ensure efficient logistics execution.
  • Develop daily shipping plans and coordinate customer pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Work closely with production scheduling to align product availability with customer demand.
  • Negotiate freight rates within established guidelines and support carrier management initiatives.
  • Support transportation optimization efforts to improve service levels and reduce costs.
  • Plan and execute shipment activities in SAP and maintain accurate transportation records.
  • Resolve customer, carrier, and transportation-related issues, including after-hours support when required.
  • Manage transportation claims, damaged product investigations, returns, and carrier disputes.
  • Process shipping documentation and support warehouse operations as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support operational objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Skills & Experience Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or a related industry is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, carrier management, and freight coordination.
  • Experience processing transportation claims, resolving customer issues, and negotiating freight rates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Knowledge of truck loading, securement, and transportation best practices.
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations and loss and damage claim processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
