About The Role

Uber Freight is looking for experienced customer service professionals with a background in the Transportation, Supply Chain or Logistics field. Our specialists will lead transportation functions to ensure accurate, timely delivery of products in the most efficient and cost-effective manner all while providing excellent customer service to our customers. This position is based at our Oakville, ON office and will follow a hybrid schedule after the first 90 days of employment. Standard department hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What The Candidate Will Do

  • Use the Transportation Management System (TMS) to its fullest potential in order to facilitate the life cycle of an order
  • Exceed customer on time pick-up and delivery expectations
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers contracted to the account as well as other carriers operating in your geographical region
  • Effective and timely freight coverage and carrier selection through systemic routing guide and spot shipments including rate negotiation
  • Leverage TMS to effectively route and consolidate orders considering best cost and transit options for all transportation modes
  • Monitoring and resolving shipment data errors
  • Proactive analysis to prevent service failures
  • Proactively develop, recommend and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs in support of the transportation strategy
  • Professional and timely communications
  • Identify patterns with shipper, receiver, and carrier performance and recommend actions for improvement
  • Resolve carrier invoice discrepancies in TMS financials
  • Train new customer and vendor users on the TMS, demonstrating knowledge of customer business practices and workflow

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years of related experience in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain
  • Canada over the road transportation experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • Strong understanding of cross-border transportation and the freight logistics industry
  • Experience with reefer/frozen, flatbed, LTL & FTL transportation
  • Reporting and Analytics (Ability to run BI reports; validate information; understand reports, offer feedback and deliver insights to your manager and or customer contacts on the information contained within the report)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google Tools
