Job Description

The House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Logistics and Events Delivery Support Team Lead position.

The Logistics and Events Delivery Support Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that all broadcasted events for the House of Commons, the Senate of Canada, and their committees are properly supported with audio-visual services. In this role, you will create and apply new strategies, plans, and tools to improve how the Digital Media and Connectivity Services (DMCS) team works. This includes collecting and analyzing data to support planning, reporting, and service improvements.

You will also work to improve how the team uses its people and technology and help manage how events are organized. As demand continues to grow, you will lead a busy operations team that handles logistics and schedules for many DMCS staff and events. You’ll also manage client expectations and give advice on whether certain events or projects can be delivered successfully.

Activities related to this role may require working irregular hours and overtime and providing on-call support to meet operational requirements. This role has a requirement to be on site minimum three (3) days per week.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A University degree or a College diploma in Communications, Business, Broadcast or audio-video service management OR an acceptable equivalent of education, training and experience.

Experience:

  • Experience leading teams by setting goals, guiding staff, and managing workloads in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience overseeing broadcasting or event operations, advising on policies, and supporting risk management and service improvements;
  • Experience managing human resources, including workforce planning, capacity analysis, and overseeing daily operations;
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong partnerships with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders;
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, and delivering complex, high-profile events with effective logistics solutions.

Assets:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in applying collective agreement rules related to scheduling, leave, overtime, and accommodations in a unionized environment;
  • Knowledge of a variety of electronic systems, computer equipment and software used in the recording, broadcasting and distribution of committee proceedings.
