Job summary

Central New Brunswick Woodlands in New Brunswick is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator (Log Loader Operator) to support woodlands operations.

The role loads, unloads, stacks logs, meets daily targets, and performs inspections and maintenance, while working safely with yard staff, truck drivers, and supervisors.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
  • Valid equipment operator certification or willingness to obtain through training.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a log loader to safely load, unload, stack, and organize logs in harvesting yards.
  • Feed logs as required to meet daily production targets.
  • Conduct thorough daily equipment inspections and complete pre-operational checklists.
  • Perform general equipment maintenance such as greasing, cleaning, and reporting mechanical issues promptly.
  • Work with yard staff, truck drivers, and supervisors to ensure smooth flow of log inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Follow all company policies, including lock-out procedures and equipment protocols.
  • Assist with other production tasks as required.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a log loader to safely load, unload, stack, and organize logs in harvesting yards.
  • Feed logs as required to meet daily production targets.
  • Conduct thorough daily equipment inspections and complete pre-operational checklists.
  • Perform general equipment maintenance such as greasing, cleaning, and reporting mechanical issues promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with yard staff, truck drivers, and supervisors to ensure smooth flow of log inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with JDI safety and environmental standards.
  • Follow all company policies, including lock-out procedures, equipment protocols, and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with other production tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-2 years of heavy equipment operation experience; experience with log loaders is an asset.
