VIA Rail Canada Inc., a leader in passenger transportation in Canada, is currently seeking applications from qualified Locomotive Engineers (conductors with minimum 2 years experience could be considered) for october 2026 in the Quebec region.

The Locomotive Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of VIA Rail passengers and crew, enabling VIA to meet its scheduled operations and provide excellent customer service.

This designated safety-critical position entails working varying schedules, being away from home for extended periods of time, working under pressure and dealing with stressful factors all within the guidelines of the Railway Safety Act of Canada and the Canadian Railway Operating Rules as well as VIA Rail's special instructions.

Hourly Salary :$ 76.25/ h

  • Very good spoken and written communication skills in French and functional English
  • Operating experience will be evaluated and considered throughout the selection process
  • No criminal record
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position

  • Track experience on the subdivisions for the position is a definite asset
