Job description

Aurizon is seeking Qualified Locomotive Drivers based at our Sydney (Glenlee) depot. Aurizon and Team Global Express (TGE) have signed a major long-term national contract, positioning Aurizon in Australia's growing containerised freight market. This contract provides rail linehaul services connecting Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

About the role :
  • Operate locomotives, including mainline shunting and marshalling.
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
  • Work according to Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
  • Maintain high on-time running performance.
  • Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to meet business objectives.
About you :
  • Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon's safety strategy I Know Safe I Choose Safe.
  • Availability to work a 24/7 shift roster.
  • Experience with Safe Working systems in NSW & QLD is advantageous.
  • Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
  • A Certificate IV in Rail Operations or equivalent.
