The Locate Support Agent will contribute to the day-to-day operations of Promark-Telecon Inc within the Alberta region by supporting the work management of our Utility Locators. They will provide administrative assistance required to complete Alberta One Call requests, ensuring homeowners, professional excavators, and utility companies can dig safely.

This is currently a remote opportunity; however, we are seeking a candidate based in Alberta — preferably Edmonton or Calgary.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO :

  • Answer incoming phone calls/emails and respond to inquiries or issues from both internal and external customers.
  • Relay communications between Contractors and Utility Locators to ensure productivity.
  • Review Alberta One Call tickets to ensure they contain adequate information for the Utility Locator.
  • Respond to emergency tickets promptly, prioritizing Alberta One Call requests.
  • Schedule and route tickets for Team Leads and Utility Locators.
  • Monitor work status and completions throughout the day.
  • Clear or cancel tickets as per communications from Contractors, Supervisors, or Team Leads.
  • Review rescheduled and backlogged tickets.
  • Handle conflicts on tickets following procedures.
  • Create and update reports as needed.
  • Support TurboCAD/file management, sharing, updates, and new file creation.
  • Assist Utility Locators with communication requests.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned to meet company objectives.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES :

  • Experience in a Dispatch environment, preferably in construction or utility industry.
  • Experience interpreting maps, sketches, prints, or proficiency with CAD software is an asset.
  • Experience with invoicing is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Power BI is an asset.
  • Understanding of Alberta geography.
  • Ability to take 'On Call' shifts in rotation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle diverse interactions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and escalation when necessary.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
