Job summary

Home Instead Senior Care in Ottawa region is seeking CAREgivers to provide compassionate, non-medical support to aging adults at clients’ homes. You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, and medication reminders, with flexible hours across days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ideal candidates are certified PSWs or internationally trained nurses, have a vehicle with insurance, and are comfortable with vaccines.

Qualifications

Must have a vehicle with valid auto insurance.
Certified PSW or international nurse.
Experience with 2-person transfers is an asset; training will be provided.
Experience with palliative care is an asset.
COVID-19 full vaccination required unless accommodation applies.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 care in clients' homes, individually or with another caregiver.
Assist in 2-person transfers using lifts or assistance.
Provide medication reminders.
Support activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation).
Assist in palliative care as needed.
Maintain communication and report changes in client care needs.
May assist with instrumental activities of daily living (laundry, changing linens, meal warming).
