Job Summary

The Regional Department of Family Practice is seeking a Local Department Head at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre.

Detailed Job Description
  1. Participate in the Site Operations Committee or equivalent for the Facility.
  2. Serve as the communication channel between the Regional Department and the Facility, keeping Members informed about Fraser Health, HAMAC, and Departmental objectives, policies, and activities, and ensuring Regional Departments are aware of Facility-specific issues.
  3. In collaboration with the Regional Department Head, recommend appointment of practitioners and renewal of Medical Staff membership and privileges.
  4. Ensure coordination of program requirements within the Facility.
  5. Promote health and wellness among Members.
  6. Investigate and document complaints regarding care provided by Members within the Department at the Facility, under the direction of the appropriate Regional Department Head and/or Site Medical Director.
  7. Encourage a healthy, respectful workplace environment.
  8. Review human resource needs of the Regional Department practicing within the Facility with the Regional Department Head.
  9. Assist in the search and selection process for applicants to fill vacancies in the Regional Department.
  10. Conduct morbidity and mortality reviews.
