Job summary

Gordon Food Service - Canada in Nanaimo is seeking a Class 1/AZ Delivery Service Representative who values safety, accuracy, and customer service. You will offload products, record delivery information, and ensure vehicle safety on all routes, with guaranteed home time every day.

Starting pay ranges from $35.94 to $41.97 per hour, with benefits after 30 days, a flex benefits program, RRSP matching, profit sharing, and opportunities for advancement within our long-established family-owned company.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract.
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs)
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency
• Willingness to work weekends and statutory holidays
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred

What We Require

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract

• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Must be goal oriented with a positive, “can do” attitude
• This position requires punctuality and attention to detail
• Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• A high-level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self directed.
• Professional demeanor under stressful situations.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Availability for weekends and statutory holidays

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include correctly offloading product, recording of delivery information, accepting payment for goods when required, and ensuring operational vehicle safety in all aspects. The Delivery Service Representative is expected to operate the vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules and regulations of the road, and following all appropriate company policies and procedures.
