Located in the Global Transportation hub, our new state-of-the-art facility is projected to have an annual production capacity of 1 million metric tonnes and will provide a consistent and fast point of delivery for farmers and end users.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Operate all equipment associated with railcar loading and unloading, truck loading and unloading
  • Monitor and adjust operation using computerized and controlled systems to meet department requirements
  • Enter confined spaces under proper permit conditions and supervision
  • Understand and adhere to Provincial and Federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plant safety. Follow all Cargill safety rules and regulations.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment utilized by facility; determine immediate and long-range needs for maintenance and repair work. Enter work orders utilizing the Maintenance Computer Program.
  • Gather samples from loaded tank cars or trucks with each load/unload
  • Gather samples from pellets and/or crude oil cars loaded.
  • Troubleshoot minor problems as required
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with a high regard for environmental and food safety impacts of the operation
  • Complete master sanitation schedule checklists and tasks
  • Attend various mandatory safety and department meetings
  • Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved.
  • Assist other crush and plant personnel as needed, and will perform any other duty as requested.
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Requirements

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a high school diploma/equivalent or higher
  • Must be willing and able to work 12 hr shifts, including nights, overtime, weekends, holidays, and additional hours beyond regularly scheduled shift to cover vacancies
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, etc., to work in elevated areas of the plant (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs regularly, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Prior experience in industrial related work
