The Loader Operator performs a variety of tasks while working outside in variable conditions. The position requires the successful candidate to be detail orientated, observant and physically fit with the ability to complete manual labour tasks. A current drivers abstract must be provided prior to hiring and a minimum Class 5 license is required.

This position is primarily field based in remote locations. Candidates must be comfortable working out of town for extended periods.

Job Overview And Responsibilities

• Safely and skillfully operate a variety of heavy mobile equipment including loaders, dozers and skid steers in a pit setting
• Load asphalt plant feeder bins with aggregate
• Comply with safe working procedures and practices
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks of plant and equipment
• Assist with stockpiling of aggregate, maintain material consistency, yard aesthetics
• Occasional manual labour duties as needed to support pit and plant operations
• Requires a flexible work schedule including overtime and weekend availability as required during the construction season (May - November)
• Carry out other tasks as directed
