Job summary

RB Global in Chilliwack, BC is hiring a Loader Operator II responsible for operating heavy equipment and trucks, setting up equipment for auctions in yards, and assisting customers during and after auctions.

You will support safety commitments, learn vehicle check-in tasks, and assist with yard staff duties; 1-2 years' loader experience and English proficiency preferred; organized and capable of multitasking.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Loader Operator I experience or similar.
• Experience operating heavy machinery.
• Able to operate a large 36,000 lbs forklift.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Good computer skills and quick to learn new programs.
• Proven safety record and ability to promote safe work.
• Able to relate well with customers and team members.
• Team player who can also work independently and stay organized.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and trucks as required.
• Assist in setting up equipment in the yard for auctions.
• Help customers load purchases and answer yard-related questions.
• Support RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety and daily safety practices.
• Learn and assist with vehicle check-in tasks as needed.
• Assist with Yard Staff responsibilities as needed.

Job Description

The Loader Operator II is responsible for operating heavy equipment and trucks, setting up equipment for auction in yards and helping customers during and after auctions.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating all types of heavy equipment and trucks
• Accountable for helping to set up equipment in the yard for auctions
• Help customers load their equipment purchases, and answer their questions related to the yard
• Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers, and customers
• Learn and assist on vehicle check in tasks as needed
• Supports and assists with Yard Staff responsibilities as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• 1-2 years prior experience as a Loader Operator I or similar external experience
• Experience operating heavy machinery
• Able to operate a large 36,000 lbs forklift is an asset
• Good spoken and written English is required
• Good computer skills and able to learn new programs quickly
• A track-record of working safely, and helping others work safely, too
• You must be able to relate well with customers and team members
• You like to work in a team, helping out wherever needed; but you can also self-start and work on your own
• Organized, and can handle lots of multiple tasks at once
• A high level of attention to detail.
