Job summary

PERMA-PIPE in Camrose, Alberta is hiring General Labourers to support our growing operations. Energetic, reliable, and safety‑focused individuals are invited to join our on-site team at a dynamic global pipe coating solutions facility.

As a General Labourer you will perform multiple plant tasks, operate panels, assist in foam application, and support equipment maintenance. The role includes loading/unloading duties and safety meetings, with overtime and varied shifts as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to perform manual tasks in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Perform multiple tasks within the pipe coating processing plant.
• Operate panels to ensure pipe coating process remains constant.
• Assist in the foam application process.
• Support maintenance of foam equipment and inspect coating.
• Assist in plant shutdowns and start-ups.
• Assist forklift operators in loading and offloading pipes.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned work areas.
• Participate in safety and toolbox meetings.

Position Requirements:

Ability to commute - Camrose, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work

Schedule - Monday to Friday; Night shift rotation; Weekends as needed; Ability to work overtime as required

Must Be - Flexible to work varied shifts, weekends, or on-call assignments as required

Shift - Must be able to work 8 - 10-hour shifts with the ability to stand/walk

Pre-Employment - Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.

Essential Job Functions

General Duties

• Perform multiple tasks within the pipe coating processing plant.
• Operate panels to ensure pipe coating process remains constant.
• Assist in the foam application process.
• Support maintenance of foam equipment, inspect foam coating.
• Assist in plant shutdowns and start-ups.
• Assist forklift operators in loading and offloading pipes.
• Perform pipe rack construction and maintenance.
• Assist with truck loading and offloading preparation.
• Participate in safety and toolbox meetings.
• Complete on-the-job training and any additional trainings as required.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in assigned work areas.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, equipment and procedures utilized with all coating types - a plus but not required.
• Understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions is considered an asset.
• Fast wire and kit manufacturing capabilities are strongly valued.
• Experience is an asset but NOT required.

Physical Demands

• Raise/lower or move objects horizontally.
• Frequent wrist/hand motions.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work.
• Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances.
• Ability to work in extreme weather.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and industrial setting.
• Exposure to hazards associated with electrical and industrial trade work.
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, and other safety gear.
• Active industrial shop with exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and heavy machinery.
• Frequent use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust masks as required.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
