Job description

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Milton team as a Loader.

This role involves directing and controlling operations within a production environment that manufactures concrete building blocks for both commercial and domestic markets.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all plant and equipment, with training provided. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service.

The role includes training in various manufacturing processes, primarily involving loading finished goods onto customer vehicles, removing stock from the factory, and maintaining yard and stocking areas using clamp trucks and other equipment, all while adhering to Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Key accountabilities relating to Health & Safety:

  1. Maintain high standards of Health & Safety for yourself and others during all workplace activities.
  2. Adhere to all Health & Safety standards as outlined in the site management systems.
  3. Report any Health & Safety concerns immediately to your line manager.
  4. Follow risk assessments and safe systems of work for all tasks you are trained in; do not undertake tasks without current risk assessments/SSOW.
  5. Keep PPE in good condition and properly maintained.
  6. Maintain tools and equipment, report defects, and store them properly after use.
  7. Ensure guards are fitted correctly and report/resolve defective equipment promptly.
  8. Obtain permits for high-risk tasks such as working at height or entering confined spaces.

Key accountabilities relating to Quality Systems:

  1. Complete and sign process control sheets daily; report quality concerns immediately.
  2. Follow site quality requirements for all trained processes.
  3. Collaborate with management to promote sustainability at the site.

  • Well organized, maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe work environment.
  • Willing to be trained or already trained to operate manufacturing machinery and plant.
  • Awareness of health and safety legislation.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
