Job summary

University of Guelph seeks a dynamic leader for the dual role of Research Facility Foreperson / Technical Support at the Arkell Poultry and Equine Research Stations. You will supervise a diverse team and oversee two active facilities operating 365 days a year, including infrastructure, machinery, and vendor contracts.

Qualifications

• Undergrad degree in Agriculture/Animal Science required.
• Master’s in livestock discipline preferred.
• Must hold or obtain on hire: health & safety, first aid/CPR, JHSC worker status, valid driver’s license, livestock medicine course, CCAC training, forklift/WHMIS, pesticide licence.

Responsibilities

• Direct a multi-disciplinary team across two livestock stations.
• Oversee poultry facility with 12,000 birds and equine unit on 150 acres.
• Translate experimental designs into standard operating procedures.
• Manage off-campus infrastructure, equipment, and vendor contracts.
