Canadian Mental Health Association-Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge is seeking a Coming Full Circle Peer Specialist to support Haliburton County residents facing mental health or substance use challenges. The role emphasizes harm reduction, lived experience, and linking clients to health and community services.

Location: Minden & Haliburton County. Status: Full-time Temporary (up to 75 hours biweekly until March 2027). Wage: $30.27 to $31.66 per hour. Posting# CFC-PS-FTT-09-26.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize own health well-being.
• Develop new ideas for supporting others and engaging the community.
• Provide individual and group support to people participating in CFC.
• Assist clients in accessing community supports such as mental health, housing, food, education and employment upgrading and skills development.
• Participate in co-hosting support groups and educational events for clients and the public.
• Encourage other agencies to include people with lived experience in services and programs.
• Assist clients to navigate their recovery through self-directed support plans.
• Help clients develop personal practices in socialization, recreation, education and vocation.
• Support clients in understanding mental health, recovery and harm reduction.
• Foster positive relationships and help prevent relapse or crisis.
• Collaborate to create opportunities with health and community services.
