Job summary

Brodie Rec Leagues in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a part-time Scorekeeper to manage game scores, shot clocks, and live-streams for basketball events. You will coordinate with referees, track fouls and timeouts, and ensure a smooth, professional game-night experience.

You will operate scoreboard systems and BallerTV equipment, greet players, and maintain neutrality and focus throughout all games. Must be reliable with flexible evening/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Sharp attention to detail and ability to track multiple game elements.
• Calm under pressure and able to manage disputes and fast-paced gameplay.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with athletes and fans.
• Technologically comfortable with scoreboard systems and live-stream tools.

Responsibilities

• Track live game score on the scoreboard and BallerTV live stream.
• Reset the shot clock accurately on all plays.
• Record team fouls, timeouts, and the possession arrow.
• Track jersey numbers and individual scoring on scoresheets.
• Communicate with referees to confirm score accuracy and manage stoppages.
• Manage game clock during final 2 minutes when game is within 10 points.
• Ensure games begin on time and warm-up minimums are met.
• Set up, operate, and monitor BallerTV equipment for each game.
• Start the live stream before tip-off and keep it running until final buzzer.
• Update scores live on the iPad during gameplay.
• Monitor battery levels, camera framing, and stream status.
• Report technical issues to the League Manager.
