A community support organization in Port Alberni is seeking Social Services workers to support adults and youth in care. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, collaborating with health services, and maintaining case documentation. Our Youth Residential programs provide culturally based programming, support and safe, home-based accommodations for youth in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) as well as an Indigenous funded agency (Usma). These are 24-hour live-in shifts providing long term therapeutic care for up to 3 children or youth. These programs support children or youth who have experienced trauma, are addressing adverse childhood experiences and/or overcoming other adversities.
The Community Living programs provide essential services to adults we serve with personalized support programs that stress independence, support unique strengths and qualities, and encourage integration into the community.
Taproot is hiring Social Services workers to care for the individuals (adults and children and youth) within our programs in Port Alberni. We are currently hiring for the following roles, in both part-time and full-time capacities.
Live-in Support Workers receive free room and board during scheduled work shifts and may receive breaks from the resource home, as conditions permit. We strongly encourage qualified Indigenous — First Nations, Métis, and Inuit, applicants to apply.
