Reporting to the Property Manager, you will be managing on-site maintenance activities and driving operational excellence for a multifamily property in Montreal 200 units) while building strong relationships with tenants and delivering exceptional customer service.To be successful in this role, you will be fully bilingual (French & English), dedicated to resident safety and satisfaction and strong vendor/contractor management. This opportunity offers great growth potential!Maintenance Technician Key Duties & Responsibilities:- Responds to resident requests in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
- Prepares all apartments ready for rental, which may include painting, carpet cleaning/repair, general repairs and housekeeping to ensure a quality product for our residents
- Possesses knowledge of various maintenance functions including, but not limited to, plumbing, pool maintenance, air conditioning, heating, general carpentry skills, appliances, electrical, painting, caulking, snow removal, planning and safety equipment
- Maintains grounds, pools, common areas and dog parks to keep them clean, free of litter, debris and other safety issues
- Carries out emergency procedures on call or as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager
- Reports to manager all budget-affecting maintenance issues involving safety equipment, required repairs to vacant units, property damage and common area needs
- Knowledge of provincial, local and federal laws, codes, policies and systems pertaining to housing maintenance and upkeep
- Attends and participates in training programs required by the employer and local and provincial jurisdictions
- Provide superior customer service and represent the company in a professional manner at all times. Consistently maintain a professional and courteous attitude in dealing with residents, colleagues and the public.
- Completes assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain and preserve all company tools and equipment.
Maintenance Technician Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Fluency in French and English required
- Previous experience in construction, building mechanics and plumbing preferred
- Ability to perform basic maintenance and upkeep tasks as outlined in the key responsibilities listed above
- Knowledge of safe use of maintenance tools and equipment used to perform maintenance tasks
- Ability to read and understand documents such as procedures, safety rules and equipment operating and maintenance instructions
- Ability to write routine reports
