Job summary

Earth Angels Home Care in Antigonish, NS seeks Live-In Caregivers to support seniors at home on a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation. Provide dignified personal care, meal prep, medication monitoring, and companionship.

You will live in the client's home, sleep in a designated room, be available for emergencies, and promote independence and well-being, using Teepa Snow dementia care techniques when needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on caregiving, preferably live-in or dementia care.
• Compassionate and reliable with a focus on client dignity.
• Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication.
• Driver's license preferred; car optional.
• Willing to learn and participate in ongoing training.

Responsibilities

As an Earth Angel you'll be there for our clients by:

• Providing essential support with daily living, like personal care, meal prep, and medication monitoring.
• Offering a much-needed break for families
• Lending a hand with errands and light housekeeping to keep homes safe and comfortable.
• Most importantly, being a trusted companion who ensures our clients feel cared for, valued, and never alone.

What is a Live-In Caregiver?

• Live 24/7 in a client’s home on a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation.
• Assist clients with personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, and companionship during daytime hours.
• Sleep in a designated room in the client's home at night while being available for emergencies.
• Enhance the client’s quality of life by promoting independence, dignity, social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Your Role

As a Live-In Caregiver, you will:

• Provide dignified personal care, ensuring clients feel respected and independent.
• Apply specialized Teepa Snow dementia care techniques when needed.
• Maintain a professional, compassionate presence in the client’s home.
• Observe and report client changes, collaborating with our office team to proactively adjust care plans.
• Become a valued part of the client’s life, providing continuity, support, and companionship.

Who You Are

• Experienced: 3+ years in hands-on caregiving, preferably including live-in or dementia care.
• Compassionate & Reliable: You prioritize clients’ dignity and well-being, and families can trust you fully.
• Communication Skills: Fluent English, with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Mobile: Driver's license preferred (car optional).
• Willing to Learn: Open to training and continuing education.
