Position Overview
Serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of mixology, beverage menu engineering, and stay updated with latest trends.
- Greet guests courteously, promote, and document orders for drinks and/or food.
- Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard measures and recipes, practicing responsible alcohol service.
- Provide professional and courteous beverage and food service according to established standards.
- Ensure proper setup of the bar, including all necessary supplies based on the beverage menu.
- Maintain inventory, including beer, spirits, wine, and storage, ensuring product quality.
- Input orders into the POS system, create checks, and maintain accountability for all beverages served.
- Handle payments, verify charges, and ensure proper receipt documentation to balance cash and credit transactions.
- Store inventory and beverage equipment properly, lock up beverages and food, and deposit cash drops.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area and storage spaces.
- Perform quality control on equipment such as dishwashers, refrigerators, and beverage machines.
- Retrieve and store barware after events.
- Work efficiently and professionally with team members.
- Communicate challenges, guest complaints, or requests promptly to the team leader.
- Follow all safety procedures during duties.
- Follow management instructions and perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Set weekly availability is required.
- Arrive on time in complete uniform, ready to work.
- Report to the F&B Manager at the start and end of shifts.
- Attend departmental meetings and training as scheduled.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Valid AGLC ProServe certification is mandatory.
- Experience with Point of Sale systems is an asset.
- Previous bartending experience is required.
- Experience in banquet service is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic drinks.
- Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance at all times.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated attitude.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to transport up to 125 lbs. regularly.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs.
- Regular kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling over 4 hours per day.
