Job description

RWR is an insurance litigation boutique law firm in downtown Halifax. We represent national and multi-national insurance companies in all manner of insurance claims and legal actions throughout Atlantic Canada. We have ‘big firm’ clients but provide a ‘small firm’ culture and work experience.

Position overview

This position is heavily focused on document management and plays a critical support role in complex litigation files. Experience in insurance litigation is considered an asset, but we welcome applications from candidates with relevant litigation backgrounds.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Coordinate, review, and maintain large volumes of litigation documents with accuracy and efficiency
• Prepare document productions using litigation support tools, including producing supporting materials such as affidavits of documents and expert briefing packages
• Enter and code documents into internal systems for effective matter tracking
• Manage and import opposing counsel’s document productions into litigation software
• Record all billable and non-billable hours on a daily basis
• Navigate and utilize legal software and document management platforms with proficiency
• Provide administrative support and assist with general office tasks as required
• Perform other duties as assigned to support legal teams

Qualifications and skills include:

• Completion of Paralegal diploma or equivalent education and experience
• 3–5 years’ experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a document-intensive litigation support role
• Insurance litigation experience considered an asset
• Proficient with document management systems and legal software
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple deadlines
• High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information
• Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
