The Liquor Store Clerk Cashier is responsible to ensure customer service is provided through maintaining a safe and efficient operation while adhering to Company policies, procedures and standards. This position reports directly to the Liquor Store Supervisor / Liquor Store Manager, and the main responsibilities include;

  • Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the proper handling of customer questions, comments, requests and complaints. Effectively works in a diverse team environment in a proficient and friendly manner.
  • Performs all aspects of Liquor Store Clerk / Cashier functions including but not limited to; stocking, building displays and facing in an efficient and organized manner. Ensures display presentation and proper stock levels are maintained with respect to inventory on hand.
  • Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages and markdowns. Provides substitutions as directed and ensures price integrity including price changes.
  • Performs general cleanup duties such as cleaning spills, display fixtures and washrooms to ensure a neat and organized location. Responsible for keeping the sales floor and back stock area clean of cardboard and debris including the disposal of garbage.
  • Performs duties following established Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies to ensure the health and safety of all Employees and customers. Promotes the prevention of robbery and violence in the workplace.
  • Ensures the proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and tools. Reports repair requirements to the Liquor Store Supervisor or Liquor Manager.
  • Responsible for all aspects of verifying product and quantities, once it has been received including, reviewing / verifying invoices, returns, transfers, claims and ensures proper storage of products.
  • Assists in organizing and conducting inventory.
  • Operates the checkouts and cash handling in an efficient manner.
  • Adheres to all rules and regulations as set out by the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
  • Responsible for selling memberships.

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Related retail experience, including the provision of customer service

  • Liquor experience with strong product knowledge and knowledge of provincial liquor regulations or equivalent retail experience
