Otter Co-op is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Liquor Store Associate at our Angry Otter Liquor @ Whatcom located in Abbotsford, BC.

We operate three food and pharmacy stores (including one with fashion and hardware departments), thirty-one Angry Otter liquor stores, two feed mills, two bulk petroleum facilities, the Angry Otter Tap & Forno and Brewery in North Vancouver, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, the Highwayman pub in South Surrey, and twenty-five gas station/convenience stores. What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Liquor Store Manager, responsibilities include:

  • Providing excellent customer service in a courteous, efficient manner
  • Processing register transactions, refunds, returns, and activating gift cards
  • Balancing the register drawer at the end of each shift following company procedures
  • Stocking, facing, and rotating products on shelves
  • Receiving, checking, and storing deliveries
  • Keeping the store and storage areas clean and organized
  • Using product knowledge to promote sales
  • Contributing to the team by embodying the core values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Who you are:

You are seeking a career in retail store operations and possess:

  • Preferred liquor retail experience
  • Serving it Right license
  • Enjoyment of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills and team spirit
  • Problem-solving abilities and quick learning skills
  • WSET 1 designation (asset)
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs., and stand for a full 8-hour shift
  • A commitment to a safe working environment
  • Must be over 19 years old
  • Open availability to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, and evenings
  • Willingness to travel and work at other locations as needed
